Making your ‘Groove’ is what consistency is all about

Becoming more consistent is the key to your success or results.

When you can find time to dig your groove out everyday and often, then in time your groove will not only begin to run deep, it will also in time become a reality. Whatever it is you are doing, you are making a groove for that in your life. And not only are you making it in one area, but you are grooving out your life in all aspects. You have a relationship with everything you do and so it may help you to know that it is important to pay attention to how you are feeling when you are carving out or grooving out your life.

Carving out your GROOVE needs to come from a space of feeling positive.

When you are living your day to day, pay attention to those things that you love because when you are doing them you are creating a most magical groove and that is why it feels so good when you think about it or even when you come back to visit it time and time again.

When you are grooving out your life in an area that you absolutely adore, it feels like freedom and happiness and you could do it  all day everyday. That’s when all the best parts of you are fully there and present and waiting to just exhaust and milk it for every bit you can get. This is a wonderful way to carve out, or put a groove into your life.

Notice I said that your Groove needs to come from a space of feeling positive not just thinking positive! Just thinking positive alone may not help and the reason for that is when you are not feeling good, you have been told in order to shift you need to think positive thoughts. Or you need to think positive thoughts all the time.  Although this  information is helpful there is some advice I would like to add to that.

Firstly, when I am feeling angry the last thing I want to do is to feel happy or even think happy thoughts. The solution is to find a way to feel as good as you can and so if I am angry I just go with it and it burns out fast and then I feel less anger which causes me to want to reach for a better feeling thought.  So in time I think a thought that makes me feel better versus just thinking happy. In this way I gain some relief and in time I am back to my old self.

*The trick is to find thoughts that make you feel better from where you are and where you are can be anywhere on the emotional scale of the lowest of dis-empowerment or depression  all the way up through contentment and happy, to bliss.

Carving out your GROOVE from a space of negative emotions will cause you to feel like you are in a rut.

As you are now getting the hang of what I am talking about you will notice that when I mentioned ‘carving your life out’ or ‘grooving in’ your life, it is important to live your life with a positive feeling attitude most of the time.

If you are doing something and you feel like you are in a ‘rut’ it is only because you are doing it with a minimum of your enthusiasm. So if it is a job that you despise, try approaching it with putting more of your personality into it. If you really hate or loathe your job or your boss, then try thinking about things that make you happy whilst you are doing it even if it has nothing to do with your job. You can be joyful in a miserable job and when you do, magic happens but you must be in a good feeling place at least 60-70% of the time if you want to see change in your life. Obviously the more you can eventually become happier in your day to day more often, then greater change will come, but the greatest change will be with you first and in the joy that you will begin to feel.

Just remember

Remember that when you make a ‘groove’ in your life you are doing it consistently no matter what you are focused on. So if you want to see a change in your life then you must make a ‘groove’ consistently in the direction you are wanting to go and you must remember to do it with joy in your heart. ENJOY-EN(in) JOY(joy)

  1. Very nice Jennifer!
We do indeed make these grooves, whether we know it or not, so much better to be in control and set the style of that groove ourselves.

The consistency of forward movement comes with aligning this groove setting with a roadmap of action towards the goal, and then progress becomes inevitable.
    Excellent reminder!

    1. Fantastic words Gordon,
I like how you outlined the action needs to be towards the goal. So many people don’t realize that their action is not lining up with their desires.

And I would like to add in here that our thoughts are the pre-cursor to either wonderful thoughts that line up with wonderful action, or terrible thoughts that line up with terrible action.

It is much simpler than we know. Thankyou for your profound and wonderful mouthful of words-Jennifer

    1. Hey Nicolas,
great to see you mate, thanks for stopping by. Not sure about being a youtube expert yet but I am learning. I do love sharing my message with video though as it conveys who I am and people can see me for who I am.

  2. Hi Jennifer,

Love your analogy on your video whereby we keep drawing that line over and over again in the earth. Yes…it becomes a rut…but a good rut. One that is exciting and we want to keep digging deeper into it. I know that feeling so well.

Being consistent is something we cannot take lightly. We need to do it in order to get anywhere. I can say I made a groove in my life and I’m feeling groovy 🙂

    1. Hey Donna,
yes we are in our Winter now and I am happy for that. Here in Hervey Bay Queensland it is Summer for too long sometimes. I love Winter as we get to use our fire. I love the fire!!!!!

I love a good rut, I like how you put it that way and I love even more that you are aware that you have created a good rut. Maybe I should have titled it-‘A good rut!’ …..lol. Do people still say lol….I know it is getting old.

Anyways, thanks for jumping in to say hi and so great to have you visit from the other side of earth. Have a summery day…..Jennifer

  3. What a wonderful message Jennifer! I am a big believer in the importance of consistency, I’ve just never considered the groove analogy but the way you explain it, it makes perfect sense. And others have mentioned, I also appreciate your point about positive “feelings” because our emotions are powerful and affect us much more than we realize. (And thanks to Donna Merrill for making it possible for us to meet virtually!)

  4. Groovy baby!

    Had to say that, Jennifer

Being in the groove – nice way of putting it. What’s the difference between a groove and a rut? A groove is a happy trough whilst a rut is a grave with the ends knocked out. It never ends.

Or to put it another way….

Groovers rock and the Rutters are miserable SOB’s.

Thanks for your happy post, Jennifer

  5. Hi Jennifer. I love the idea of a positive rut, one that helps you get to where you want to go instead of the usual negative kind that keeps you stuck or takes you where you don’t want to go.

It reminds me of a Ralph Waldo Emerson quote: Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
